I read earlier that they were picking Utah for a more sympathetic handling and possibly a kinder and gentler trial (juried, I presume) on charges of manslaughter, attempted slaughter, and weapons charges. They technically could spend decades in jail if convicted.
Somehow the DC US Attorney is still involved in the proceedings.
