According to an
AP report at Boston.com
The crew of the Japanese Whaler the Nissin Maru have restarted the engine of the ship, but the processing deck itself is still heavily damaged.
If that portion of the ship cannot be repaired then the whaling season is probably over says their spokesman Glen Inwood.
Oh, boo hoo!
I know I've got my fingers crossed, but not for the outcome the whalers want.
(Inwood also added some bloviating and pretense that anyone, but those involved with the bloody and greedy killing of intelligent whales really cared that the Nissin Maru should be fixed, but I left that out. As always you can check the original for details.)
And get this. According to
Newstalk ZB Auckland New Zealand, the Japanese Institute of Cetacean "Research" became incensed when New Zealand environment commissioner warned about toxic chemicals on board the Nissin Maru that could harm the environment if they leak into Antarctic or New Zealand waters. Their spokesman, Glen Inwood, asserts that there are no toxic chemicals, only oil and fuel.
Hmmm, Refined crude. It's what's for dinner.
(I'm thinking that if Inwood has any brains he's soon going to want to spend a lot more time with his family. Really, Glen. Is the money that good that you will continue to spew such transparent BS for them?)
