According to a Wall Street Journal report "Women Heavily Favor Obama in Donations " the Women's Campaign Foundation has discovered that women are breaking with a decade of tradition and are giving to Barack Obama's campaign twice as much money as to John McCain's.
They note that the year 2000 saw women giving twice as much to George W. Bush than to Al Gore, while in 2004 the numbers were nearly even between the campaigns according to the Journal's analysis (looking at the chart there still was a slight edge for Bush), but this year the numbers have flipped compared to 8 years ago.
I don't see how that squares with polls showing women evenly divided between the candidates, but apparently those are the numbers.
I don't know if WSJ will keep this article available at the link for non subscribers, but it was short and I've covered what it said.
