Israeli Military Had Been Given GPS of School in Which Dozens, Mostly Children, Died.

A school in Jumbaliya refugee camp where Palestinian families were sheltering for safety was struck by two Israeli missiles.  Forty-one bodies, mostly children, had been recovered by the time of submission of Guardian article.

The kicker?  According to Guardian report "Israeli shelling kills dozens at UN school ":

The UN, which said the school in Jabaliya was clearly marked, said it was "strongly protesting these killings to the Israeli authorities and is calling for an immediate and impartial investigation".

"Where it is found that international humanitarian law has been violated, those responsible must be held to account. Under international law, installations such as schools, health centres and UN facilities should be protected from attack. Well before the current fighting, the UN had given to the Israeli authorities the GPS co-ordinates of all its installations in Gaza, including Asma elementary school."

The report also notes that a shelling at another UN school, Asma elementary, where 400 had taken shelter killed 3 boys, and reports on an attack on a large family, which was possibly the same as the one reported on by the NY Times I linked to in an earlier post.
