The Above Linkblogs Might Contain "Borrowed" links.
Linkblogs do not substantially contribute traffic to my blog that I can discover. They all go offsite, and are often accessed from my blog. It's possible to access them from the RSS according to my settings. Still, even if I were to get ads clicking on a linkblog from the RSS won't drive more people to my blog than otherwise because they leave my resources. (Note to self, do more posts, less LBs with sources I find). I explain because I sometimes borrow links from people at Twitter, and often forget who put them up. (To fellow Twitterers: If you have a link to your blog, I will point it there, but Twitter, being impermanent, cannot hold your link for people to discover from there. I only 'borrow' them to get news out to as many people as I can who might not have seen the reports and videos found by the smart people I follow at Twitter or find in search rooms.RSS Add-Me
NOAA: Cat 2 Hurricane Could Still Flood New Orleans
Excerpt AP report at Yahoo News "NOAA: New Orleans at risk from Cat. 2 hurricane ":
Despite a massive effort to repair and upgrade flood defenses since Hurricane Katrina, storm surge could pour over levees in New Orleans if a strong Category 2 or higher hurricane strikes the city, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said Monday.
While the forecast uses what officials say is the most accurate and complete picture yet of the region's levee heights, they said they weren't surprised by findings that reaffirm the area surrounding New Orleans is among the nation's most hurricane-vulnerable. The forecast released Monday represents the first time the yearly storm surge predictions have used levee heights based on global positioning system technology.
That's another problem we could have fixed if we weren't embroiled in the war in Iraq to get good contracts for major American big oil companies. In fact contracts to fix New Orleans levees were canceled before Katrina so that the money could be used for war.
Our little Bushie has repeated failed to protect the American people and then postured over the disaster that ensued like he was a god.
It's definitely a Republican way. I remember when Reagan pushed to have the Challenger shuttle lift off before his State of the Union Speech and they lost the whole crew, including a teacher, partly because of the extreme cold that Florida was experiencing. Bush was warned about foam problems before the Columbia disaster. (At least Reagan had the taste to use a good poem for the memorial. Bush made up his own poetic disaster.) Still you have to see a pattern. (Though I want to emphasize that President Reagan, though we railed against him at the time, never reached the lows that George W. Bush has explored. Our little tyrant in DC absolves himself of all evil through his religion in a manner that would make Henry the 8th blush.)
Henry the 8th line (conversation probably as made up by a modern playright-- I think in "Anne of a Thousand Days"-- and paraphrased due to memory): I know I'm doing right because I ask God to guide me everyday.
Other man: But couldn't that be an excuse to do whatever you want?
Henry the 8th: I am the King of England. When I speak, God listens!!!
