Upon reading about a new spycraft being designed by the Pentagon, I see visions of the Spy Blimp in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang from an East European country around the turn of the century, with two spies in full absurd regalia fighting over a brass telescope.
But the Pentagon's spy blimp is serious business. At 65,000 ft (13 miles) it will fly higher than surface to air missiles and most enemy aircraft can go, and sit at the edges of warzones and just watch with powerful radar according to LA Times report "Pentagon plans blimp to spy from new heights ".
Constant surveillance that can get a complete picture of events and movements below is the prize. (And dammit Iran doesn't have one.) A 1/3 size demonstration 'blimp' should be complete by 2014.
Then let bin Laden worry about that 6'4" frame. ISIS will be able to pick out his mug floating above the crowd pretty easily.
