It seems that a lot of politicians and their wives have written some pretty racy stuff.
Lynn Cheney included a Lesbian couple in a book published in 1981. Though the scenes aren't explicit, for the public positions of the people they mingle with that comes as quite a shock.
An ABC report mentions a romantic Scooter Libby moment from one of his books, but it's not the one I would call the raunchiest of his work. That would be the part about the child raping bear.
O'Reilly's work I've been exposed to through Al Franken's take offs of it.
Now I learn that Newt Gingrich is pretty racy too. Maybe bedtime tales for the lady he lived with in Washington while his wife was back in Georgia, who kept the pressure from building up while he was busy pressing impeachment on Bill Clinton for having an extramarital affair. (An yes, when they started, from what I understand, the young lady was Newt's aide --an employee, an underling.)
Excerpt from above linked article:
If you are trying to keep track, it's not easy to gauge whether Republicans or Democrats are racier writers… especially since Webb was once a Republican. But is it fair to slam political figures for including sex in their novels?
Absolutely not says Roger Hodge, the editor of Harpers Magazine, who believes adult literature demands sex.
"Whether it's going to be graphic and clichéd and embarrassingly awful… that's something different," Hodge said. "But if you're a realist novelist and you're writing for a popular audience, it's going to be sexually explicit or violent, that's a reflection of our society."
Okay, but a bear that rapes kids? Now that's gross.
