Taking a big cue from the Dukakis campaign of 1988 (link below for verification), the Clinton folk (are these the same people Move On called "Professional Losers" after 2004?) are working up a lather about a few very good ideas shared between friends and then shared with the American public.
And here I thought the Republicans created all the smears that destroyed Democratic hopes in the general election.
I can see now that the big money people, who are trying to promote malleable candidates, fund the kinds of campaign professionals that will tear the opposing candidate to shreds, leaving a bad taste in the mouths of Americans by the time the primary season is over. In the meantime the Republicans get their sold out white man selected early and spend their time polishing up his image with even more money than is behind the Democrats.
This is how California defied the national trend in 2006 and returned a groping clown to the governorship instead of electing a liberal. Two Democrats one liberal another what politicos call "moderate" tore each other to shreds before even gaining the chance to face Governor Schwarzenegger who had lost a major special election on his priorities in 2005, showing Californians' distaste for him.
We Need to Really Pay Attention to What is Really Being Done Here!
Probably the most worthy and electable of the democratic candidates in 1988, Joseph Biden, was sidetracked by more pronounced borrowing, but his chances were really destroyed by mainstream news and a fellow Democrat over working charges on this. Bidens problem was likely closer to true plagiarism, whereas Obama seemed to be using words from a someone with which he was so close that the pair might not know who's words really are who's anymore.
But, more importantly, it turns out that Biden wasn't destroyed by the Republicans, but by the Dukakis campaign.
We all saw how that turned out.
BTW, hasn't Hillary stolen her mandatory health insurance program and half her populist stance, including words, from John Edwards?
It was nice of Barack Obama to not play the "j'accuse" game over that.
What I'm seeing he though is that it's time to get ready to bend over to President John "Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran" and "Make that a hundred" (more years in Iraq) McCain.
Thanks, Professional Losers.
See you again in another 4 years.
